The strategy, which was approved by the Supreme Security Council on Wednesday, identifies two major threats to Moldova's security: the aggressive policies of the Russian government and the country's entrenched corruption.

To address these threats, the strategy calls for a number of measures, including:

- Increased investments in defense and security
- Gradual progress towards a peaceful resolution of the Transnistrian conflict
- Partnerships with democratic countries around the world
- Intensified efforts to fight corruption
- Contributions to regional and international security

*"The world is shaken by attacks that destroy peace and order,"* Sandu said in a speech at the unveiling of the strategy. *"We must be prepared and choose clearly which side of the world we want to be on. Moldova can only protect its citizens by being part of the free world."*

Sandu said that the strategy is based on the principles of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. She also stressed the importance of Moldova's European integration.

*"In the European family, we will enjoy security, respect, and will contribute to maintaining peace in the region and on the entire European continent,"* she said.
