The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

*"The fire broke out on the third floor of the medical clinic,"* confirmed a police spokesperson. *"Upon arrival, emergency services heard cries for help and managed to rescue several people."* 

Their swift action contained the flames and prevented further spread. However, the fire caused extensive damage to the facility, necessitating evacuation and patient transfer to other hospitals.

*"The victims of the fire have not yet been identified,"* the spokesperson added, further stating that *"investigations are ongoing, and an expert opinion will be sought to elucidate the circumstances surrounding the fire."*

This tragedy has shaken the Uelzen community and beyond. Local authorities express their deepest condolences to the victims' families and friends.
