In an interview with Jurnal TV, Grosu emphasised the importance of enshrining this "European path" within the country's supreme law.

**"This will be a constitutional referendum,"** Grosu stated, outlining plans for nationwide information campaigns. **"We will work tirelessly to explain to everyone why this choice is crucial for our future. Europe represents peace, prosperity, and respect for individuals, and we deserve all of these things."**

Grosu's announcement follows a December 2023 amendment to the Moldovan Electoral Code, allowing for a referendum to coincide with national elections. This paves the way for combining the EU vote with the 2024 presidential elections, though the exact date remains undecided.
