This announcement was made by the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday, as reported by AFP and cited by Agerpres.

In a statement released shortly after a warning from US President Joe Biden, the war cabinet has authorised the government *"to take immediate measures to increase humanitarian aid"* with the aim of *"avoiding a humanitarian crisis"* and *"ensuring the continuation of the fighting."*

During a roughly 30-minute phone call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, the US president, a staunch supporter of Israel until now, demanded an immediate cessation of hostilities following an Israeli attack on a humanitarian convoy of the NGO World Central Kitchen, resulting in the death of seven volunteers.

Furthermore, the American leader emphasised that he expects from Israel *"the implementation of specific, concrete, and tangible measures to respond to the suffering of civilians, the humanitarian crisis, and to ensure the safety of humanitarian workers,"* according to a brief summary of the phone call released by the White House.
