The Ministry of Health issued a press release to mark the occasion, expressing their appreciation for healthcare professionals.

The Ministry states that *"these dedicated professionals fulfil their noble mission and remain committed to their professional oath."* The message highlights the tireless efforts of medical workers, acknowledging the *"knowledge, compassion, and energy"* they dedicate to caring for patients *"often at the expense of their own health and time with loved ones."*

Health Minister Ala Nemerenco assured medical professionals of continued efforts to improve working conditions. This includes *"significant investments in modernising medical facilities"* and *"implementing policies to motivate and develop the workforce."*

The Minister expressed her *"deepest gratitude"* for the often *"gruelling"* work, acknowledging the *"immense sacrifice"* it can require. The message emphasises the *"uplifting and noble"* nature of their work, highlighting the countless lives saved by doctors and paramedics, the successful resuscitations, and the positive impact they have on patients' lives.

*"Do others recognize and understand this?"* the Minister asks. The message concludes with a plea for public understanding, urging people to *"respect doctors, understand the sadness and fatigue they carry in their eyes, and do not dismiss it as a lack of caring."*

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova has 12,600 doctors and 23,687 mid-level healthcare workers.
