In an interview with publications from the Funke Media Group, the Budapest official stated that Hungary does not agree with this process but does not obstruct it; rather, it supports the initiation of negotiations.

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, these negotiations represent *"a purely political process"* where the issue of Ukraine's accession to the EU is not simply a matter of *"yes"* or *"no."*

It is noteworthy that Hungary will assume the presidency of the Council of the European Union from July 1 for a period of six months.

It is also notable that under Orban's continuous leadership since 2010, Budapest is increasingly adopting a friendlier stance towards Russia.
