# Covid-19: Six other cases by Kraken were confirmed in the Republic of Moldova

"The results confirm in all 16 evidence subject to the sequencing the circulation of the submissions belonging to the variant of the Hamicron (to 8 men and 8 women). In 6 of these, XBB.1.5 (unofficially called Kraken) was confirmed ”, reads the ANSP statement.
The samples were selected from different regions of the country, Chisinau municipality, Anenii Noi, Calarasi, Ceadîr-Lunga, Donduseni, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Orhei, Rezina, Straseni, rural and urban and confirmed by molecular biology (RRT- PCR). In the selected samples, the icyicron variant has been confirmed to eight men and eight women.
The WHO data shows that XBB.1.5, called Kraken, A SARS-COV-2 is dominant in Europe.
Specialists reiterate the importance of vaccination against Covid-19, as the most effective way to avoid serious cases of disease and death.
