The leader of the initiative group, Anatolie Bocșanean, has accused the mayor of a *lack of transparency in the local administration's activities.* He also criticized *the way meetings of the Local Council are convened, which are announced late and only through messages in internal groups.*

Bocșanean expressed concerns about the closure of the Culture House and the Library in the area, as well as the absence of a public report on the execution of the local budget. He stated, *"She has been in charge for two years and four months, yet she has not presented a report to the residents. We want to know where the money has gone and what is left in the budget."*

In response, Mayor Elena Drucenschi-Grinco rejected the accusations. She stated, *"The meetings were convened in accordance with current legislation. Additionally, the timings were agreed upon with some councilors who work in public institutions so they could attend."*

Regarding the Culture House and the Library, she clarified that neither institution has any paid staff. She added, *"We are a small village with few inhabitants, and until now, we haven't had people willing to initiate cultural activities."*

The mayor requested that the Central Electoral Commission reject the initiative group's request, claiming it was *late, unfounded, and repetitive.*

The CEC analyzed the request and ultimately decided to register the initiative group advocating for the referendum. Notably, this marks the second attempt to organize a referendum to dismiss the mayor of Cristești, following a previous failed attempt.
