# Moldova allocates €7 million to community health as home care visits surge in 2025

> Moldova’s National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) has allocated over €7.04 million (approx. 138 million MDL) to community and home-based medical assistance in 2025. This funding surge targets home-based care, mental health services, and youth-friendly health initiatives.

Moldova’s National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) has allocated over €7.04 million (approx. 138 million MDL) to community and home-based medical assistance in 2025. This funding surge targets home-based care, mental health services, and youth-friendly health initiatives.

**Home-based care expansion**

The mandatory health insurance system covered approximately 80,000 home medical visits last year. This represents an increase of 10,000 visits compared to 2024.

CNAM allocated €1.25 million (24.6 million MDL) for these services, a significant increase of 4 million MDL over the previous year. These services are vital for insured patients with physical dependencies or limited mobility.

**Mental health and youth services**

Mental health services received over €3.21 million (63 million MDL) in funding. This investment covered 336,000 consultations, focusing on early detection, psychosocial rehabilitation, and family mediation. Notably, 17% of these services were dedicated to minors.

Additionally, Moldova’s Youth-Friendly Health Centers provided over 100,000 specialist consultations and 13,000 mobile service interventions. CNAM backed these initiatives with €2.45 million (48 million MDL).

**Institutional reach**

In 2025, the national insurance provider contracted 128 home-care organizations. Furthermore, the network included 40 community mental health providers and 41 centers specialized in youth-friendly medical services.
