# Discover Moldova with the holiday voucher: New card accessible through a mobile app

> Entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova can provide employees with vacation vouchers valued at 8,700 lei. The new vacation card, linked to a mobile application, will enable beneficiaries to manage their balance and plan trips to 31 tourist destinations across the country. This new system fully digitalizes the distribution of vacation benefits. Through the dedicated application, users can check their available balance in real time and view the list of partner locations participating in the program.

*"Any card can be linked to the application, which provides all the information about the balance and the transactions that have been made. Additionally, it includes details about the locations where the card can be redeemed," says Dumitru Cozmolici, the director of the company that developed the application.*

The 31 tourist destinations included in the program are ready to welcome future visitors.

"It is a positive addition for tourists, as it offers a significant advantage to have a ticket that allows them to explore Moldova. Yes, we have a terminal, and visitors can pay through both a bank terminal and in cash."

"Moldova is a multiethnic country, which means that people living in the northern and central regions will have the opportunity to visit the south, particularly Gagauzia. Visitors can spend a day or two enjoying local cuisine, tasting wines, and going on excursions."

More than 130 national and international entrepreneurs who are members of the European Business Association can sign up to provide holiday vouchers to their employees.

"Employers, whether from larger or smaller companies, will be able to motivate their employees by offering these holiday vouchers. This initiative will support tourist attractions and aid local entrepreneurs in various regions," says Mariana Rufa, Executive Director of the European Business Association.

The implementation of holiday vouchers is nearing completion.

"When this voucher is issued, it will be valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. Currently, we have 31 registered tourist destinations, with more undergoing analysis," explains Ana Sandra, interim director of the National Tourism Office.

In Romania, holiday vouchers have been available since 2009, primarily for state employees. As of 2026, the value of these vouchers is approximately 3,000 Moldovan lei; however, their distribution is conditional. Beneficiaries are required to contribute an equal amount to cover the cost of their stay.
