One completed project focused on improving the energy efficiency of Kindergarten No. 3. These improvements were made between April and September 2025 as part of the second edition of the "European Village" Program. Poor thermal insulation negatively impacted the comfort of both children and staff, leading to increased heating costs. As a result of the recent renovations, the 246 children attending the institution— which includes three refugee children and 11 children with special educational needs—now benefit from improved conditions. According to the press release, the local budget's heating costs were reduced by approximately 40%. The total investment was 3,286,540.30 lei, which was allocated from the state budget through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. Additionally, the Town Hall of Ștefan Vodă contributed 579,977.70 lei. ![](https://storage.moldova1.md/images/2fff38fc-597a-427a-b75f-0b951515616d.jpg) An important project recently took place involving the major renovation of the House of Culture in Ștefan Vodă, which now serves as the Multifunctional Administrative Center. This renovation was part of the first edition of the “European Village” Program. The renovation included building a new roof, replacing the carpentry, insulating the facades, and completely rebuilding the stairs. According to the National Office for Regional and Local Development, these improvements have “transformed the building into a safe, accessible, and energy-efficient space.” The renovated facility now offers a variety of functions, housing the Youth Center, Public Library, police department, Veterans Club, non-governmental organizations, and other community services. Additionally, the space is used for fairs, conferences, economic forums, and both regional and international meetings. The modernization of the House of Culture has also had a positive economic impact by creating nine new jobs and reducing heating expenses from the local budget by approximately 40%. As part of this initiative, the second stage of the "Heritage Valorization and Revitalization of the Kizil Historic Center" project is being implemented. This project involves the renovation of 1.28 kilometers of pedestrian paths and platforms, the construction of bicycle paths, and the modernization of 0.52 kilometers of local roads. The aim of these improvements is to enhance accessibility and safety while also increasing the attractiveness of the historic center. For this stage, the Government is allocating 9 million lei through the FNDRL, while the local public authority is contributing 1,229,142.58 lei. According to a press release, this area saw the construction of the first 56 houses in 1909 by German-origin settlers. The initial stage of the revitalization project for the historical center was completed with an investment of 8.58 million lei from the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDRL) and an additional contribution of over 980,000 lei from the local public administration. As part of this project, three bridges were built using Cosăuți stone, featuring elements of medieval architecture. Additionally, green spaces were created, a parking lot was established, and the Gealair riverbed was cleaned. ![](https://storage.moldova1.md/images/a17c488e-7966-4232-8eb6-d05ce001f60b.jpg) According to the National Office for Regional and Local Development, the projects' results benefit residents in 26 localities, including around 7,700 residents of Ștefan Vodă, as well as visitors to the town.
