# Vershinin added to “Mirotvorets” database over “Russian propaganda”

The platform focuses on two main topics highlighted by the MP. The first issue is the security of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. Vershinin has called for enhanced security, citing a rise in cross-border drug trafficking. The second topic addresses the ecological condition of the Nistru. The MP accused Ukraine of causing environmental problems due to its hydroelectric exploitation of the river. In July 2026, Vershinin stated in Parliament that Ukraine is responsible for the decreasing water levels in the Nistru, urging the Prime Minister to discuss the matter with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

**Vershinin's reaction**

Alexandru Vershinin denied the accusations, asserting that his statements should not be interpreted as actions against Ukraine.

*"I didn't realize that saying the border with Ukraine needs to be secured because of drug trafficking could be seen as a statement against Moldova or Ukraine. I also didn't know that raising concerns about the water level in the Nistru and the ecological crisis could be interpreted as a statement against Moldova or Ukraine,"* the MP wrote on Facebook.

He further criticized the reasoning behind including individuals on the list of an NGO as if it were a final verdict.

*"When there are no arguments addressing what you specifically said, all that's left are labels, analogies, and wordplay. I prefer a more straightforward approach: let's discuss the statements, verify the facts, and then draw conclusions—not the other way around"*, Vershinin added.

**What is "Mirotvoret"?**

The "Mirotvoret" Center is an independent and non-governmental organization in Ukraine, founded by researchers, journalists, and specialists focused on investigating indications of crimes against the national security of Ukraine. The platform gathers information from open sources, including the press, social media, websites, and blogs. The database does not hold the status of an official sanctions list from the Ukrainian authorities, and inclusion on the list does not equate to a conviction or court ruling.

Among those Moldovans included in the list are socialist MP Bogdan Țîrdea, journalists Elena Pahomova and Natalia Morari, Tiraspol separatist leader Vadim Krasnoselski, as well as Ilan Șor, Marina Tauber, and Evghenia Guțul.
