A Russian attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy injured at least 14 people overnight on August 10, including a 14-year-old child. Russian forces launched five guided aerial bombs, striking civilian infrastructure at three locations across two districts.

Sumy Regional Military Administration Chief Oleh Hryhorov confirmed the updated casualty count after initial reports indicated five wounded. Authorities stated that most victims sustained minor injuries or acute stress reactions, with all receiving prompt medical assistance.

Emergency services remain on-site to clear the wreckage and assist residents. Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar reported widespread panic and damage to residential housing following the series of overnight explosions.

The bombardment comes amid an escalation of Russian strikes against several Ukrainian urban centers. On August 9, a Russian strike hit a 10-story residential building in Kharkiv, destroying floors seven through ten before a second strike struck a neighboring block. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed two deaths and one severe injury.

Earlier on August 8, Russian forces targeted the central district of Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The attack ignited fires in a private home and a vehicle, injuring several individuals and damaging local power infrastructure.
