Moldovan health specialists have urged drivers to inspect mandatory onboard first aid kits regularly, warning that expired medical supplies could compromise emergency care before professional rescue crews arrive.

Under Moldovan Government Decision No. 1306 of November 21, 2008, every motor vehicle operating in the country must carry a certified first aid kit. Drivers are legally required to ensure that all internal components remain within their expiration dates and ready for immediate deployment.

**Mandatory vehicle requirements**

National regulations require vehicle kits to contain three essential pharmaceuticals: a 10% ammonia solution, 10 tablets of Validol, and topical iodine antiseptic for wound disinfection.

Motorists must also carry standard dressing materials, including elastic bandages, sterile gauze, antibacterial adhesive plasters, medical cotton wool, scissors, and a rubber tourniquet to control severe bleeding.

**Workplace and domestic provisions**

For residential and workplace settings, medical professionals recommend expanding kits to handle broader trauma scenarios. Additional recommended supplies include a clinical thermometer, disposable gloves, sterile compresses, medical adhesive tape, tweezers, and skin cleansing wipes.

Kits may also be tailored to individual needs by adding over-the-counter pain and fever reducers, antihistamines for allergic reactions, cold symptom remedies, and throat lozenges.

**Training and emergency protocols**

Officials stressed that first aid equipment should only be utilized by individuals familiar with proper administration techniques. In any life-threatening situation, witnesses must immediately dial the single emergency number 112.

*“A properly equipped and regularly verified first aid kit does not replace professional medical intervention, but it ensures vital initial care until emergency teams arrive,”* specialists said.
