More than 40 wineries from the Republic of Moldova are showcasing their wines at the Moldovan Wine Festival in Bucharest this weekend. During the event, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Eugen Osmochescu, said that Romania remains the primary export market for Moldovan wines, with projected sales of approximately $45 million by 2025.

"I am in Bucharest at the Moldovan Wine Festival, where over 40 wineries from the Republic of Moldova are showcasing their wines. Each label tells a part of the country's story. I am thrilled to see our products appreciated abroad, particularly as Moldovan wine is gaining an increasingly prominent presence in foreign markets," Osmochescu wrote on his Facebook page.

According to the minister, around 70 Moldovan wineries are currently active in the Romanian market, and the impact of this event in Bucharest is expected to extend beyond its two days.

"I hope that this encounter with Moldovan wine does not end with the festival. The wines discovered here will continue to be sought after, reaching people’s tables and carrying the taste and name of the Republic of Moldova to the world," Osmochescu added. He thanked the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Romania and the National Office of Vine and Wine for organizing and promoting the event.

**Moldovan Wine Festival returns to Bucharest for its sixth edition on Kiseleff boulevard**

The sixth edition of the Moldovan Wine Festival takes place on September 5 and 6 on Kiseleff Boulevard in Bucharest, offering free access to all visitors. The event will feature a diverse selection of producers showcasing wines, sparkling wines, and cognacs, all of whom have received awards in international competitions.

In addition to wine tastings, the festival will include live contemporary jazz concerts, activities for children and families, relaxation areas, and a food court. Attendees can purchase tasting packages for five or ten glasses either online or directly at the event. They will also have the opportunity to buy their favourite wines by the bottle directly from the producers in attendance.

A new feature this year is the introduction of four daily masterclasses at the Wine School, led by experienced sommeliers. These sessions include tastings and wine pairing activities. Participation costs 150 Romanian lei per person, with online or on-site registration available, subject to availability.

The festival is organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine of the Republic of Moldova and aims to promote local wines under the “Wine of Moldova” brand. It will be held on Kiseleff Boulevard in Bucharest from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
