# Opposition demands explanations; PAS majority rejected them

> A number of ministers were summoned to Parliament at the request of opposition MPs to explain several issues. A number of ministers were summoned to Parliament at the request of opposition MPs to explain several issues. They sought answers on the tender for the expansion of Chisinau International Airport, delays in various road infrastructure projects, the compensation mechanism for the cold season, and the reasons for delays in work on the Chisinau-Vulcănești power line. The Socialists have requested a hearing of Minister Vladimir Bolea regarding the tender for the expansion of the Chisinau International Airport. The parliamentary majority did not support the initiative.

*“We have doubts as to why this tender was nevertheless unsuccessful, and we request a hearing of Mr Vladimir Bolea regarding the unsuccessful tender for the expansion of the Chisinau International Airport”,*said Inga Sibova, a PSRM deputy.

The request follows the National Agency for the Resolution of Complaints' order to reevaluate the bid declared the winner in the airport expansion tender. Previously, the Minister of Infrastructure said the procedure was suspended because of several complaints.

*"The delay means 5 thousand meters that were supposed to start in October and will delay this process a bit. But I believe that Chisinau Airport, taking into account the requirements from our national agency, the ANSC, will learn the lessons, talk to those who did it, draw conclusions; they have to work,"*Minister Vladimir Bolea declared on a television station.

The deputies of the "Our Party" faction also requested explanations from the Minister of Infrastructure. They are requesting information about several road infrastructure projects.

*"Let them come and speak in Parliament about the construction of the G39 road connecting the Unchitești-Țipordei localities, which was to be completed in October of this year. Let them also provide us with information about the R7 project, the bypass sector of the city of Drochia. We also request a report on the R34 Hâncești-Leova-Cahul-Giurgiulesti route"*, said Alexandr Berlinschi, deputy of the "Partidul Nostru"

The Minister of Energy was also called to the report. The Socialists requested the creation of a Commission of Inquiry in the Legislature to determine why the commissioning of the Chișinău-Vulcănești Line is delayed. Previously, Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu cited defects in some components for the Chișinău power station, which were sent for repair in Spain.

*"The Parliament must answer why five deadlines were missed, who checked the works, who took responsibility for the management of the works and where 12 million euros were spent"*, said Petru Burduja, PSRM deputy.

The Socialists also requested a hearing of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Natalia Plugaru, to explain the compensation mechanism for the cold season. The Secretary General of the Government was also requested by the Socialists in plenary, to provide explanations regarding the merger process. The proposals did not register the required number of votes.
