# Căprești placement center: 50 beneficiaries have a renovated space

> Public solidarity made it possible to renovate the activity center for residents of the care home in Căprești village, Florești district. After a fire destroyed one of the center's buildings, the community rallied; following a public appeal and a report by Moldova 1, over 600,000 lei was raised. Fifty residents—elderly individuals with serious health issues—can once again enjoy a renovated space adapted to their needs.

Public solidarity made it possible to renovate the activity center for residents of the care home in Căprești village, Florești district. After a fire destroyed one of the center's buildings, the community rallied; following a public appeal and a report by Moldova 1, over 600,000 lei was raised. Fifty residents—elderly individuals with serious health issues—can once again enjoy a renovated space adapted to their needs.

In October 2025, a severe fire destroyed the building where daily activities were held for the elderly residents of the Căprești Center. The community rallied to help.

*"I acted on my own initiative as a volunteer, collaborating with the school—students, teachers, and class masters—with everyone donating whatever they could. Then, I reached out to local businesses, knowing they are responsive and supportive."*

Today, the building has been renovated and is ready to welcome the beneficiaries back. The space has been refurbished so they can resume their activities in a safe and comfortable environment.

*"People across Moldova were incredibly responsive; over the course of six months, we raised 630,000 lei. They helped us and we thank them all,"* said Vera Crivorucica, director of the Căprești Center.

*"It is important to maintain these services, renovate them, and create better conditions for the beneficiaries. There is a real need; we have elderly people and individuals with disabilities in our communities who—unfortunately—are sometimes forgotten by their families, by children who have gone abroad,"* stated Vasile Cușca, State Secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

Fifty elderly individuals, some with serious health issues, are the beneficiaries of the Căprești care center.
