# Chișinău Airport saw a record number of passengers in September

> Chisinau’s "Eugen Doga" International Airport set a new passenger record in September. Nearly 762,000 people passed through the airport—an increase of approximately 116,000 compared to the same period last year.

Chisinau’s "Eugen Doga" International Airport set a new passenger record in September. Nearly 762,000 people passed through the airport—an increase of approximately 116,000 compared to the same period last year.

According to the institution, passenger traffic exceeded the forecast for this period by over 113,000 passengers.

Compared with the same month last year, departing passengers rose 17.1%, while arriving passengers rose 18.9%.

The largest increases in passenger traffic were recorded on routes to Tel Aviv, Istanbul, Yerevan, Paris, and Athens:

- **Tel Aviv:** +8,931 passengers
- **Istanbul:** +7,441 passengers
- **Yerevan:** +6,765 passengers
- **Paris:** +6,186 passengers
- **Athens:** +5,890 passengers

A total of 26,635 passengers travelled to new destinations, representing approximately 3.5% of the total traffic for September. The most popular of these destinations were **Bratislava, Batumi, Sofia, Corfu, Rimini**, and **Rhodes**.

Additionally, nearly 5,000 aircraft movements were recorded in September, up 5.1% from last year.

Cargo transport also rose to 311.8 tonnes, up 23.1% from the same period last year.

We remind you that in 2025, Chișinău "Eugen Doga" International Airport recorded a total of 6,080,431 passengers, surpassing the 6-million-traveller mark for the first time in its history and marking a 46.8% increase compared to 2024.
