Former US President Barack Obama accused Donald Trump’s administration of siding with Russia over Ukraine at a Georgia rally on Wednesday, as Democrats campaigned ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.

**Obama criticises Trump's approach to Ukraine**

Speaking to supporters in Georgia, Obama criticised the administration's foreign policy and its handling of Russia's war against Ukraine.

"We need serious people in Washington," the former president said, questioning the administration's approach to international relations and domestic affairs.

"While we are alienating key allies like Canada, the White House is bending the knee to Vladimir Putin of Russia and selling out Ukrainians who are fighting for their freedom and democracy," Obama said.

He also accused those in power of tolerating a lack of seriousness and failing to do their homework.

**Russian diesel deal draws criticism**

The remarks come as the Trump administration continues efforts to broker a settlement between Russia and Ukraine, while facing criticism over its approach to the conflict.

Earlier this month, the White House announced an agreement involving Russian diesel supplies and temporarily eased certain sanctions against Moscow.

Critics argue that the measures could provide Russia with additional economic benefits without delivering the expected reduction in fuel prices for American consumers.

**Trump renews criticism of Zelenskyy**

Trump has repeatedly criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, recently renewing his verbal attacks and blaming Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries for rising fuel prices.

However, Sky News reported that most experts believe the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran has had a greater impact on fuel costs than Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries.
