Parliament of the Republic of Moldova turns 32 years of activity. Igor Grosu: The duty of deputies is to improve people's lives
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova turns 32 today. On this occasion, the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, declared that the duty of the deputies, entrusted when they were elected, is to improve people's lives.
"Deputies are elected by the people to represent them. People trusted us to improve their lives. They want to live at home the way they see it being lived in European countries", says Igor Grosu's message.
During all 32 years, the employees of the Secretariat of the Parliament have been with the deputies and the citizens, emphasized the General Secretary of the Legislative, Tamara Gheorghița.
"Efforts to modernize the civil service, especially in the context of granting the status of a candidate country for EU accession, are important for an efficient, transparent and professional institution. New successes to the parliamentary institution, congratulations to all current and former employees", mentions Tamara Gheorghița.
In all the years of activity to date, the Parliament adopted 13 576 legislative acts and met in 1914 plenary sessions.
We mention that on May 23, 1991, under the decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic of the 12th legislature, established after the first democratic elections, the Union Republic of SSR became the Republic of Moldova, and the Supreme Soviet became the first Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
