According to the official, in the context of the current security crisis, generated by the war started by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, our country has managed to diversify its energy sources. This was possible thanks to the partners of the Republic of Moldova, especially Romania. Igor Grosu also said that the interconnection, through Romania, to European networks ensures total independence from Russian gas.

"I am sure that in the coming years we will be much better prepared. Of course, investing in renewable energy sources is a priority. This is being discussed everywhere, the member countries of the European Union, the countries in the vicinity have set ambitious goals to increase the wind and solar energy production capacities. These are our priorities. We are going to invest as a country and we want to learn from your experience. Energy conservation or energy efficiency, in particular, of public buildings, which are the biggest consumers of energy, is also a priority", said Igor Grosu.

We remind that the Central European Initiative is a regional cooperation forum formed in Budapest in 1989 and includes 18 member states. The Republic of Moldova became a member of this organization in 1996, and in 2008 it held the Presidency of the Initiative for the first time and this year - for the second time.

ICE is the oldest and largest intergovernmental forum for regional cooperation in Central Europe, promoting political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation between member states. ICE's political cooperation objective consists in offering countries and their institutions a flexible platform for regional cooperation, while also focusing on their preparation for future accession to the European Union.
