Moscow does not show any interest in ending the conflict with Ukraine

The Kremlin does not show any interest in ending the conflict with Ukraine, according to the spokesman of the Russian Presidency, Dmitry Peskov, informs dpa on Wednesday, quoted by agerpres.ro.

Russia will carry out its "special military operation" to the end, until it asserts its interests and achieves its goals - either through fighting or "other available means," Peskov was quoted as saying by the TASS news agency on Wednesday using Moscow's preferred term to describe the war it launched on the neighboring country 15 months ago.

According to Peskov, there are currently no indications that a peaceful solution is possible. Negotiations with Kiev are not possible because Ukraine's leadership "forbade negotiations of any kind with Russia," Peskov said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made the withdrawal of Russian troops from occupied Ukrainian territories a precondition for peace negotiations. At the same time, in a video message to a security conference in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke of "increasing instability in the world" in the context of the war he ordered almost a year ago and a half.

Vladimir Putin has blamed the West for this instability, saying that Western powers are trying to maintain their global dominance at the expense of other countries.
