"Obviously, it is a decision based on commercial criteria for the Wizz Air company, which is a private company, but on the part of the Government of the Republic of Moldova we will do our best for this company to return to the market of the Republic of Moldova so that citizens, businessmen, foreign partners to be able to visit the Republic of Moldova much more easily than today and in this sense we will discuss concrete ways for the return of the Wizz Air Company, including in the context in which Chisinau Airport has returned to state management and allows us a greater capacity to discuss and to promote our national interest in discussions with foreign partners", declared Popescu.

The deputy prime minister assured that the talks with the Hungarian side are ongoing and that they will not last "very long". "I want to mention that these discussions are going on and these discussions will not last very long", assured Nicu Popescu.

We remind you that since March 14, the low-cost air operator Wizz Air has stopped all its flights from Chisinau, citing reasons of safety and security of the airspace in the region. Wiz Air operates flights from Chisinau to 13 cities in Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Spain and Great Britain.
