Voting in the second round of the Turkish presidential election has ended // Erdogan leads in front of his opponent

Polling stations have closed in Turkey, voting has ended and counting has begun in the second round of the presidential election, in which opposition representative Kemal Kilicdaroglu faces incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Daily Sabah and Anadolu report, citing by news.ro.

Over 64.1 million people were registered to vote, and over 1.92 million people voted abroad.

In total, 191,885 ballot boxes were used throughout the country.

Turks have elected their new president, between Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a candidate for a new mandate, and opposition representative Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

They voted abroad until Wednesday.

The first round of the presidential election took place two weeks ago, on May 15, in parallel with parliamentary elections. Erdogan's People's Alliance won a majority in Parliament after a showdown with the Nation's Alliance, which includes six opposition parties.
