Maia Sandu, after the meeting with Volodymyr Zelenski: "We discussed about our European future"

The Republic of Moldova respects the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine and supports the peace formula proposed by Kiev, declared the head of state Maia Sandu after a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski. The two heads of state also discussed infrastructure projects, and agreements in this regard will be signed shortly.

"It is extremely important for us that we are here today and we will discuss very important issues, we will once again confirm our support for Ukraine in this process of resistance against Russian aggression. We talked about our bilateral agenda, we discussed the infrastructure project we have together. Moldova, like other countries, is trying to help Ukraine, we also talked about our European future. Ukraine keeps Moldova safe and we are grateful for that. The Republic of Moldova respects the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within the internationally recognized limits. Moldova supports the peace formula proposed by YOU, Mr. President", declared Maia Sandu.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Moldovan citizens for hosting Ukrainian refugees.*

" Thank you, all the people of Moldova for hosting our refugee people since the first days of this large-scale war. We will never forget this. We talked about our bilateral, infrastructure priorities, on which we will sign agreements in the near future. Ukraine is ready to join NATO and I believe that security guarantees are very important not only for us, but also for Moldova. Today I will have discussions with partners about potential coalitions in the future and the Coalition of Patriots, which is our new initiative. We will also discuss possibilities of support on the battlefield," said the leader from Kiev.

For the first time since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, the central figure of the Ukrainian resistance in the war of aggression launched by Russia, is in the Republic of Moldova to participate in the Summit of the European Political Community.
