The Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced an unexpected check of the level of combat readiness. It is to determine how troops advance in designated areas, how they use engineering equipment and how they build bridges.
On December 11, the American Institute for the Study of War reported that Russia is trying to establish a permanent military base in Belarus. According to experts, the Kremlin would conduct "information campaigns" to induce Minsk to support offensive actions in Ukraine. The report of the General Staff of Ukraine on December 13 shows that the army of the neighboring country does not see any signs of the formation of an offensive group in Belarus. At the same time, the "Belaruski Gaiun" monitoring group reports that Russian troops are moving equipment closer to Ukraine's borders. Previously, Lukashenko was accused of complicity in the invasion of Ukraine. The Minsk leader, however, claimed that if a "preemptive strike" had been launched from his country's territory, its borders would have been attacked.
