Actions to recover defrauded assets and assets from the Republic of Moldova and taken to other countries were analysed on Wednesday, December 14, by the president of the country, Maia Sandu, the Minister of Justice, Sergiu Litvinenco, the acting general prosecutor, Ion Munteanu, and the head of the Anti Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalin.
According to the Presidency, the meeting focused on the result of the Head of State's participation, last week, in the International Anti-Corruption Conference in the USA and on the discussions she had with the authorities in the United States for the advancement of our country in the anti-corruption fight.
It was also discussed about the actions to recover the goods and assets defrauded from Moldova and taken to other countries.
The presidential institution announces, in this context, that the president Maia Sandu recommended to those in charge of the justice field to review the institutional and legislative needs of the anti-corruption sector, in order to speed up the process of asset recovery.
