The first airport built in Romania in the last five decades was inaugurated in Brasov
After more than 50 years, the first airport has been built in the Romanian city of Brasov. It is one of the most modern in the country, the third largest after Otopeni and Cluj-Napoca, Euronews reports. The airport operates with state-of-the-art technology and flights are controlled remotely via a virtual control tower, the source adds.
The airport's flights are also a great way to enjoy a concert. Among the artists who will take to the stage are Ștefan Bănică Junior, Raluka and the Moldovan band Zdob and Zdub.
When the first races will take place
From Thursday, 15 June, the actual operation of Brasov Airport will start, when the first flights will take place. There will be an inaugural flight with officials and then the scheduled flights.
Two low-cost companies have announced scheduled flights from this airport and there will also be weekly charter flights to tourist destinations in Greece and Turkey.
The main scheduled flights are to Brussels, London, Munich, Nuremberg and Barcelona, with tickets starting from €69 per person.
