The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine signed the agreement on the construction of the cross-border bridge Cosăuți-Yampil
The agreement regarding the construction of the cross-border road bridge over the Nistru River, in the area of the Cosăuți-Yampil localities, was signed today in Kyiv, by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Lilia Dabija, and the Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov.
The construction of the bridge will interconnect the road infrastructures between the two states, on the route T-02-02 Mohyliv-Podilsky-Yampil-Kryzopil-Bershad-Uman (Ukraine) and the national road R14.1 R14-Kosăuți-border with Ukraine (Republic of Moldova).
Also, the road network through the eastern part of the Republic of Moldova will be connected to the international traffic road network, facilitating trade on domestic and international markets, reads the press release.
Ukraine will finance the technical project of the bridge, including its construction, as well as the construction of related infrastructure on its territory. On the other hand, the Chisinau Government will ensure the construction of the related road infrastructure on the territory of our country.
The bridge will have a length of more than 1400 meters, two traffic lanes and two pedestrian sidewalks on both sides. The construction is to be put into operation in 2025.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development mentions that all aspects related to the construction of the bridge will be monitored by a Moldovan-Ukrainian commission.
