The Republic of Moldova is going to purchase an airspace monitoring system and the National Army soldiers will soon start training. The statement was made exclusively for Radio Moldova by Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatyi, who was at the NATO ministerial in Brussels.

"The defence institution of Moldova is in the process of modernization and transformation of the national defence system. We have set ourselves the goal of modernising all military areas, including the airspace," said Minister Anatolie Nosatyi.

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said that the Republic of Moldova will receive air defence systems in the near future through the European Peace Facility.

According to the head of the legislature, the authorities in Chisinau will continue to take measures to equip the National Army with defence systems and combat the dangers coming from the Russian Federation.
