War in Ukraine: The hottest areas are Berdiansk and Mariupol

The authorities in Kiev announce that Ukraine is registering successes in the counter-offensive in the south of the country. "Russia will lose the war if it cannot counter-offensive," President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with NBC News. Also, the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, threatens the West and says that the delivery of fighter jets to Ukraine brings danger to NATO member countries, which, according to him, thus enter into an armed conflict with Russia.

Four people died after a rocket attack launched by Russian forces on a small village in Ukraine's Kharkiv region on Saturday. At the same time, the Kiev army liberated several villages and towns in this area, occupied by the Russians since last fall. According to locals, since then the Russians have frequently bombed their towns, destroying critical infrastructure and injuring and killing people. Meanwhile, the Russian Emergencies Ministry posted a video showing people being evacuated from flooded towns in the Kherson region. Even under these conditions, the Russians do not stop the bombing.

In his traditional speech, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy revealed that a meeting of a war cabinet had taken place, which includes top military commanders, including the head of military intelligence, General Kirilo Budanov, who Russian propaganda previously said was seriously wounded and would have been treated in Germany. Also, Zelensky also spoke about the results of the visit to Kiev by the group of leaders of African countries.

"Meeting in a special format, Ukraine and African countries. Long talks, the peace formula, security issues, grain, our shared capabilities to protect the principles and objectives of the UN Charter, to protect nations in the face of aggression. We have asked African leaders and states to participate in the Global Peace Summit that we are preparing. Ukraine will be heard all over the world and we will involve the whole world in the implementation of the Peace Formula. It is not easy, but we are working," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

Referring to the counteroffensive launched by Kiev, the deputy defense minister of Ukraine stated that "if in the first week the epicenter was in the east, now heavy fighting is taking place in the south, and the hottest areas are Berdiansk and Mariupol, where success is registered".

Meanwhile, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has issued new threats. According to him, if the West helps Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, they will be destroyed, instead, "NATO risks entering into an armed conflict with Russia*.
