Delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will attend the summer session of PACE

A delegation from the Moldovan Parliament will attend the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which starts on Monday in Strasbourg. For five days, they will discuss the political consequences of the Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine and the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Also on the agenda of the PACE summer session is a debate on ensuring free and safe access through the Lachin Corridor, the only land link between Nagorno-Karabakh and the Republic of Armenia.

"Parliamentarians will also discuss the challenges facing the democratic opposition in Belarus, human rights law reform in the UK, transnational repression, as well as Council of Europe priorities and budgets for 2024-2027," the Parliament's press release said.

The Moldovan parliamentary delegation will include the head of the national delegation to the PACE, Ion Groza, vice-chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration, Mihail Popșoi and Vlad Batrîncea, vice-chairs of the Parliament, and Ana Calinici and Adela Răileanu, members of the national delegation to the PACE.
