The two officials had a telephone conversation immediately after Odobescu's appointment as foreign minister last week.
The development of bilateral relations and European integration are on the agenda. "Romania will continue to be our country's main advocate in the EU accession process", Nicu Popescu added.
The official visit of Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu to the Republic of Moldova will take place on 19-20 June
On Tuesday, the legislature in Chisinau will also host a joint meeting with members of the human rights committee of the Romanian Senate.
