The authorities are working on a plan to reintegrate the country. Maia Sandu: "The solution we are designing must not hinder European integration"

The authorities are working on a plan to reintegrate the country so as not to hinder the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. A statement in this sense was made by the head of state, Maia Sandu, during a program on TVR Moldova. The president stressed that the Transnistrian dispute can only be settled peacefully.

"We model different situations, for us solving the Transnistrian conflict means a peaceful solution, that is very important. The solution we are designing must not prevent the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, but the opportunity may arise and we must be ready for this opportunity. That's why, we work with a group of experts, it's probably too early to have some discussions in the public space", declared Maia Sandu. Maia Sandu also spoke about the contract signed between Chisinau and the Cuciurgan Power Plant. She said that procuring electricity at a lower price is in favor of our country, but why we are paying more than before is to be clarified. "The government needs to communicate promptly and provide enough information, enough clarity because energy security is quite an important topic, it affects everyone and everyone needs to trust that this deal is the best that can be achieved under these conditions" , said Maia Sandu. We remind you that on December 3, Energocom signed a contract with the Cuciurgan Power Plant that provides for the resumption of power purchases, with a quantity of 204 thousand MW. Instead, Moldovagaz delivers the entire volume of natural gas from Gazprom to the left bank. The price paid is 73 dollars per MW/h.
