Minister of Defence after the airport incident: State authorities make every effort to prevent such tragic situations from happening again
The state authorities are making every effort to prevent a repetition of the tragic events at Chisinau International Airport, Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatyi said today.
On behalf of himself and the entire National Army, he expressed sincere condolences to the families of the heroes who died in the incident.
The Minister underlined that the safety of our citizens and our country remains a priority for his institution and for all the structures of force in the Republic of Moldova.
An armed attack took place on Friday evening at Chisinau International Airport. A foreign citizen, who was denied entry into Moldova, shot dead a border policeman and an airport security employee. The assailant was captured after negotiations with Moldovan law enforcement agencies.
Moldova's top leadership expressed condolences to the families of the victims and gave assurances that it will increase public order security measures so that similar incidents do not occur again.
