Kremlin comments maliciously and without argument on the attack at Chisinau Airport

The Ministry of the Interior from Chisinau comes with a reaction to the falsehoods launched by the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zaharova, according to which the shootings at the Chisinau Airport were the result of the effective termination of the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the CIS Bureau for the coordination of the fight against crime organized. In a press release, the MAI says that this Office, coordinated by the Russian Federation, did not have data about the attacker from Tajikistan, Rustam Ashurov, who killed two people in Chisinau Airport.

Moscow is using the Chisinau International Airport tragedy to spread a new lie. According to Zaharova, probably, if Chisinau had continued to interact with CIS structures and use their databases, the Moldovan authorities could have identified the criminal in time.

"It is one of the consequences of the effective termination of the country's participation in the activity of the Bureau for the coordination of the fight against organized crime and other dangerous crimes on the territory of the CIS member states and the recall of the representative of the Republic of Moldova from this structure," said the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

In response to the accusations of the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of the Interior in Chisinau said that the Tajik authorities sent tracking data of this person to the international environment, after the tragic incident at the airport, resulting in two deaths. Interpol, Europol and the interstate tracking mechanism in the CIS space did not have the tracking of Rustam Ashurov registered, as on June 30 the Tajik authorities were only in the process of preparing the international tracking file on his name.

"Tajikistan authorities sent search data for this person to the international community after the tragic incident at the airport, resulting in two deaths. Interpol, Europol and the interstate search mechanism in the CIS space did not have the search for Rustam Ashurov registered, as on June 30 the Tajik authorities were just preparing the international search file on his name. Therefore, the statement made by the Russian official is false, given that the CIS authorities had no data or active search file on the name of Rustam Ashurov", reads a statement published on the MAI website.

The institution also states that the Republic of Moldova has recalled from Moscow the liaison officer from the Coordination Office for the fight against organized crime and other types of dangerous crimes in the CIS, given that the personnel policy required the concentration of specialists in combating organized crime in Chisinau, generated by the risks of the war going on in the neighboring country, Ukraine.
