The Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu will go on a working visit to the United States of America from July 11 to 15. The official will be accompanied by the president of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission, Doina Gherman. The agenda of the working visit includes meetings with members of the US Congress and senators. They will discuss opportunities for boosting bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America.
"The Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu will participate in hearings organized by the Helsinki Commission, where the situation in the Republic of Moldova will be discussed, in particular the implementation of reforms to strengthen democracy, to fight corruption and to ensure security, in the context of the threats caused by the war of the Russian Federation from Ukraine", reads a press release issued by the Parliament.
At the same time, the speaker will participate in a public event hosted by the US Atlantic Council, where the topic of security will be addressed. The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, also has a meeting scheduled with the head of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power. Also, the Parliament Speaker will meet, at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the USA, with Moldovan citizens who have settled in the USA.
