Klaus Iohannis, at the NATO Summit: "I will have an unequivocal message regarding the support of strengthening the defense capacity and resilience of the Republic of Moldova"

Romania will ask the Allies for a strengthened presence on the eastern flank, declared the leader from Bucharest, Klaus Iohannis, before the NATO summit in Vilnius. The President of Romania also spoke about Ukraine's accession to NATO, as well as about the Alliance's support for the Republic of Moldova.

"The adoption of the Regional Defense Plans, including the one that includes Romania, is a central element that will allow an effective response of the Alliance to two major threats: Russia and terrorism. Added to this is support for vulnerable partners, especially for the Republic of Moldova, the most exposed to Russian pressure. Thus, I will have an unequivocal message regarding the support of strengthening the defense capacity and resilience of the Republic of Moldova", declared Klaus Iohannis.

We remind you that, today, the work of the NATO Summit begins in Vilnius, attended by the 31 leaders of the North Atlantic Alliance. Finland, which became a member of the Alliance at the beginning of April, is also present at the event for the first time.
