Igor Grosu, at the meeting with Bogdan Aurescu: "We will encourage new projects between Romanians from both banks of the Prut"
The authorities from Chisinau and those from Bucharest promise to strengthen their relationship and encourage new projects between Romanians from both banks of the Prut. The assurance was made during the meeting between the President of the Parliament from Chisinau, Igor Grosu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Bogdan Aurescu, who is visiting Chisinau. According to Speaker Igor Grosu, Romania will continue to support the Republic of Moldova in order to overcome the recent crises.
According to the head of the Legislature, Igor Grosu, the discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs from Bucharest focused on the current situation in the Republic of Moldova and the relevant and fast support formulas identified by Romania to be with our country.
Grosu announces, in the context, that he expressed his gratitude for the "substantial support" and contribution offered by Romania in key areas, such as energy security, infrastructure development, defence, as well as through the numerous projects aimed at improving the living conditions of our citizens.
"Deliveries from Romania of electricity, natural gas, fuel oil and firewood are helping the Republic of Moldova to face an unprecedented energy crisis," wrote Igor Grosu on his Facebook page.
The Chisinau official recalls, in this context, the emergency support, worth ten million euros, recently offered by Romania in the form of direct budget support. According to the post, the money to be used for the procurement of natural gas and coal, but also for energy efficiency measures.
Igor Grosu assures, at the same time, that by the end of the current year, the sum of 25 million euros will be disbursed for projects in the field of education and public administration.
"These actions lead us to encourage new projects between Romanians on both banks of the Prut and the strengthening of our relations", the message posted by the president of the Parliament from Chisinau, Igor Grosu, also states.
It should be noted that the head of Romanian diplomacy, Bogdan Aurescu, is today, December 19, on a working visit to Chisinau. The visit of the Romanian dignitary comes to strengthen the strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Romania for European integration, the community of language, culture and history. The program includes meetings with the president Maia Sandu, with the president of the Parliament Igor Grosu and with the prime minister Natalia Gavrilița.
