War in Ukraine: Russian shelling has killed more civilians in the Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions

One civilian was killed and another wounded in Russian shelling in Ukraine's Kharkov region and seven others were injured in a village in Zaporozhye, Ukrainian officials said Sunday. Meanwhile, Russia claims to have shot down eight Ukrainian drones over Sevastopol. Kiev authorities have not commented on the Russian information.

A 33-year-old man died and another was wounded in Russian fire on residential buildings in the village of Kolodiazne in the Kharkov region overnight, regional governor Oleh Sinehubov said. He said Russia fired four S-400 surface-to-air missiles at Kharkov overnight, slightly damaging a residential building. And the governor of Zaporozhye, Yuri Malashko, posted on social media that three women and four men were injured and several houses were damaged after heavy Russian shelling with multiple rocket launchers on the village of Stepnohirske on Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Russia claims that this morning the Russian Air Defense Forces and the Russian Black Sea Fleet intercepted nine Ukrainian drones over the Crimean port of Sevastopol. Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev also said that shipping, including the movement of passenger ferries, was suspended for several hours. Ukraine has not commented on an attack on the Crimean peninsula.

The Kiev leader's latest address was made yesterday. Volodimir Zelenski said in a new speech that he could not leave any town and village under Russian occupation, as this brought violence and humiliation to the people.

"One of the most terrible things that war brings is separation. We cannot leave any of our people, any town or village under Russian occupation. Wherever the Russian occupation continues, violence and humiliation reign. I am grateful to all our partners - every leader, every politician, every public figure, every country that truly supports us in the fact that only the complete liberation of our entire Ukrainian territory will allow for the full restoration of the rule-based international order," the Ukrainian President stressed.

Volodimir Zelenski also spoke about the meetings and talks he had had with international leaders in recent days, including those from South Korea, the USA, the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Poland. At the same time, the President of Ukraine thanked once again the people and the military for their resistance and bravery.
