Chisinau accuses Tiraspol of lack of openness on human rights issues in the Transnistrian region

The reintegration policy office draws attention to the lack of openness on the part of Tiraspol to identify positive solutions to individual cases of human rights violations in the Transnistrian region. According to the Bureau, all of Chisinau's proposals from the current year for convening the meetings of working groups for human rights would have been countermanded or rejected by Tiraspol.

"Unfortunately, we are forced to draw attention again to the lack of openness on the part of Tiraspol to identify positive solutions to individual cases of flagrant violation of human rights in the Transnistrian region, including those of Adrian Glijin, Victor Plescanov, Vadim Pogorletchii, Vladimir Dudnic and many other citizens of the Republic of Moldova, whose rights were violated as a result of the illegal and discriminatory actions practiced by the structures from Tiraspol", the Bureau announces in a press release. The cited source mentions that the human rights situation in the Transnistrian region remains the key priority of the Bureau and the constitutional authorities, with constant efforts being made to bring Tiraspol back to the dialogue and reiterate the need to reactivate productive interaction within the platform of working groups for human rights.
