Energocom will buy gas from European companies
Energocom continues preparation for the cold season. The company signed gas supply contracts with three European companies, following tenders. Two of these will deliver natural gas to Energocom for the first time.
"We cannot reveal the amount of gas because it is primarily a matter of security. We will disclose after it is supplied to the Republic of Moldova, but due to the fact that there are some restrictions, some limitations to the gas transport capacity, this cannot be communicated. They are European traders, there are no companies that sell Russian gas", said the director of Energocom, Victor Bînzari, for Moldova 1.
Energocom continues to conduct procurement tenders and to identify solutions to ensure consumers with sufficient quantities of natural gas needed in the cold season. The Republic of Moldova no longer consumes gas from the Russian Federation, which has led to the diversification of supply sources. At the end of March, Energocom bought, for the first time, gas from the Romanian Commodity Exchange. In April, gas and electricity were purchased on a trial basis from Greece and Bulgaria. In June, Energocom announced that it would procure, following the procedure of direct negotiations, gas from two companies in Romania and Greece. The natural gas purchased by Energocom is stored in warehouses in Ukraine and Romania.
