Klaus Iohannis' reaction after the Russians attacked Ismail, a few km from the Romanian border: "These are war crimes"
Klaus Iohannis reacted on Wednesday to the Russian drone attack in the Ukrainian port of Izmail, 15 kilometres from Tulcea. Romania's president says the Russian attack is a "war crime" and "affects Ukraine's ability to transfer food products to those who need them in the world", Digi24 reports.
"Russia's continued attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure on the Danube near Romania are unacceptable. They are war crimes and further affect Ukraine's ability to transfer food to those in need around the world," Romania's president wrote in a tweet.
Russia attacked the port of Izmail on the Danube, 15 kilometres from Tulcea, on Wednesday morning. A Russian explosive drone strike hit port infrastructure and caused fires in the Odessa region of southern Ukraine. For his part, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said the latest Russian drone strike on Odessa's port infrastructure was an attack on "global food security" and called on the international community to intervene.
