US will provide Ukraine with Patriot defence systems

President Joe Biden has confirmed that the US will provide Ukraine with nearly two billion dollars in new military aid, which will include the Patriot air defence system, the BBC reports.

The American leader has also promised about $45 billion as part of more aid to be approved by Congress. The BBC correspondent reports that this aid could be approved by Congress as it will be voted on by the end of this year, and the Democrats still control both Houses of the US Congress, but it is not known whether this type of aid will be approved after the Republicans will take control of the House because some Republicans in the House have already announced that they don't want to continue sending money to Ukraine.

One of the Republican leaders in Congress said that he is not willing to sign any more blank checks for Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Wednesday in the plenary session of the US Congress for stronger sanctions against Russia to make it feel "how destructive its aggression is" and to help bring to justice all those who triggered this war.

Do this! The terrorist state must answer for the terror and compensate for all the damage caused by the war," Zelenskiy said, addressing members of the US House of Representatives and senators.
