The Russian Defense Ministry claims to have shot down several Ukrainian drones in Crimea

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported a drone attack in Crimea on the night of August 11-12. The institution claims that 20 drones were shot down by Russian air defense forces and means, reports the Ukrainian RBC news agency.

Traditionally, the ministry reports that the Russian military stopped an attempt by Ukraine to carry out an attack on targets in Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014. According to the ministry headed by Serghei Șoigu, 14 drones were allegedly shot down by anti-aircraft defense systems, and another six - by electronic warfare systems.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also added that "there were no casualties and no damage."

Moscow did not specify what kind of targets would have been targeted by the drone strikes.

RBC recalls that several explosions were reported last night in the annexed peninsula of Crimea - near Feodosia and Novoozerne, not far from Evpatoria. In addition, the movement of vehicles on the Crimean Bridge was stopped. In Novoozerne, there is a large military base of the Russian army, and in Feodosia there is an oil depot.
