214 accidents involving children reported in Moldova, 10 children killed
The Moldovan Police have reported that 214 accidents involving children were recorded in the country between June and July 2023. As a result of these accidents, 10 children lost their lives.
The police are urging parents to take steps to prevent accidents involving children, such as:
- Not leaving children unattended
- Not leaving weapons, medicines, matches, various tools or other dangerous objects within reach of children
- Talking to their child about how to react if they get lost and making sure they know their parents' full name, phone number and home address
- Reminding children about the importance of traffic rules and compliance by setting examples of good road behaviour
The police also remind parents that they are responsible for the safety of their children and that they should take all necessary precautions to prevent accidents.
