Authorities are sending the military to the province of British Columbia, where several huge fires have coalesced. There are over 400 other outbreaks, and some of them have reached populated areas. 19,000 of the 20,000 inhabitants of a city near Vancouver have been evacuated. In total, more than 90,000 people have received or are awaiting an evacuation order.

The fires are so widespread that they are visible from space. The smoke has also caused air quality advisories to be issued in several provinces.

The fires are a major disaster for Canada, and the full extent of the damage is still unknown. However, the country is rallying together to help those affected.
