Air Moldova restructuring continues, flights suspended until September 14

Air Moldova has announced that it will suspend all flights until September 14, 2023, inclusive. The airline said that passengers who purchased their tickets online on the company's website will receive a refund upon request. Those who purchased their tickets through agencies will be able to receive the refund in cash or by card once the airline resumes commercial and operational activity.

The company also informed that refunds for cancelled flights are still being processed.

Air Moldova has repeatedly cancelled all its flights in recent months due to the precarious financial situation within the company. The airline has been struggling to make ends meet, and has been forced to take drastic measures to stay afloat.

Recently, the largest airline operator in the Republic of Moldova rejected the statements of the central authorities on the bankruptcy of the airline and issued an information note in which it gives assurances that Air Moldova continues to go through the stages of the restructuring process.

According to the agenda approved by the Standing Bureau, the Parliament is to ratify an agreement that provides for Canada to offer a loan to the Republic of Moldova in the amount of 120 million Canadian dollars, the equivalent of over one and a half billion lei. The money will be used to strengthen the resilience of households, including refugees, but also to support climate resilience and the transition to green energy. On the agenda is also a project to adjust the national regulatory framework with the provisions of the European Union legislation regarding contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services. At today's meeting, the appointment of some members of the Superior Council of Magistracy is also planned. These are Sergiu Băieșu and Tatiana Tabuncic.
