Russia shoots down drone approaching Moscow
Russia's anti-aircraft defences shot down a drone approaching Moscow on Friday night, the Russian capital's mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Saturday morning.
"Tonight the air defence forces destroyed a drone approaching Moscow from the Istrinskii district," Sobyanin wrote on Telegram.
According to initial information, there were no casualties or damage. Emergency services were on the scene.
Ukrainian drone strikes have increased in recent months, and Moscow and other regions of Russia have been targeted by attacks, including annexed Crimea.
On Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry said it had shot down 42 Ukrainian drones in the past 24 hours.
