Romanian canoeists Cociu and Olărașu qualify for Paris Olympics

Romanian canoeists Daniela Cociu and Maria Olărașu have qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

The tandem finished seventh in the final of the women's canoe double 500-metre race. The seventh-place finish was enough to earn them a spot in the Olympics.

Cociu and Olărașu also competed in the women's canoe double 200-metre race, finishing fourth.

Serghei Tarnovschi, who won a bronze medal in the men's canoe sprint 500-metre race, also qualified for the 1000-metre race.

However, he had a disappointing performance in the final, finishing seventh.
